General review

I went with Weather Adventures on a 10 day tour during a period where there were storms almost every day. Unfortunately, the storms were often very short lived and even if there were tornadoes in the general chase area they were usually super brief and small - with the great exception of the amazing Laramie, WY, tornado which we missed as well as everyone else. So, the weather wasn\\\'t great but Blake positioned us great for storms every day. Weather Adventures is a small tour company and as such very personal. Blake and his driver Drew take very good care of the tour guests and do their very best for you to have a good time while on the tour. One thing that was unique with chasing with Weather Adventures were the quality of the restaurants and hotels we went to. Blake always to find unique, excellent restaurants no matter where we went! Our first two days were down days and Blake took us to some national parks in western Colorado, which was highly appreciated. We had to rent a Suburban for it which I assume wasn\\\'t cheap and I believe that shows how dedicated Blake is in serving his tour guests. Read my full review in my blog post!

Tour guide review

Blake is a very dedicated tour guide and very concerned to make you have a great time as a tour guest. He was always very eager to teach and explain what happened throughout the tour. Every morning he held a forecast briefing where he showed us where we were going and why, which was really informative. All in all a very fun, dedicated and service minded tour guide!

Vehicle review

Weather Adventures use the same vans as most larger tour companies. Just as all of them, they are not super comfortable. No neck support, no curved seats (which made my back hurt) and not so much leg room. The van was also quite dirty and messy. On the positive side, the windows are large and great for watching the storms. There were lots of space to keep your stuff, free water, free Wifi, and USB-outlets to charge phones and tablets.

General review

I have been on two tours with Blake. Both were out of this world enjoyable! Not only did we catch some absolutely beautiful storms (with two photogenic tornadoes!) and got to meet some great fellow weather enthusiasts, we also enjoyed the relative road luxury of Blake ensuring that we stayed at clean and reputable hotels during our journeys. For our meals, our tour dined at some pretty nice establishments...very little fast food dining on this trip except on the days when we needed to be somewhere quick. As for the action segments of our tours, Blake always ensured that we were placed in a safe location that also provided for excellent viewing of the storms we pursued. He is extremely knowledgeable about forecasting setups and is more than willing to share that knowledge by explaining some of the finer points of forecasting using models while on the road. I will continue to be a repeat customer of Blake’s as touring with him is the most fun I’ve had on any group tour, chasing or otherwise!

General review

What an excellent 2 weeks.. We go to chase some great storms including the Dodge city tornado and the Dickinson Chapman tornados getting us close enough to get great pictures but keeping us safe one of them life events you will never forget. But its not just the storms why i like chasing with the WA team you are made to feel part of the team and everything is based on your enjoyment. on down days you are treated to parts of the country not normally visited and entry to the national parks. These days can be enjoyed as much as the chase days and is all part of the WA experience. At no time are you guaranteed tornadoes but you are guaranteed a good time The daily routine is pretty much the same, meeting in the lobby mid morning. followed by a short drive for fuel and to stock up on junk food and a stop at a bar/restaurant for drinks and a meal. At the end of the day another stop somewhere for a meal and then onto the hotel that can sometimes be a good drive away to help get ready for the next day. All hotels are clean and tidy nearly all have pools and a gym. If at any time you need anything just ask and the team will be very accommodating and will do everything they can to help. I have to say that i am looking forward to returning to chase with the Weather adventures group again in the near future... You will leave with a new bunch of friends

General review

Without a shadow of a doubt the best Stormchasing Tour Group out there. I stayed for two back-to-back tours this year and ended up extending my stay the last time I chased with them. I have chased with other people but Weather Adventures tops them all. I would now never chase with anyone else. Weather Adventures were always on the most severe storms and knew how to forecast which storms stood the best chance of turning tornadic. Whilst the chances of seeing a tornado is obviously very much dependent on the weather, because of Weather Adventures I saw 14 tornadoes during this chase season. They really did get us on the best storms. Even on days when there were severe-warned storms but no tornadoes, Weather Adventures enabled guests to witness, experience and learn about incredible storm structure and other weather phenomena. Guests were provided with many photo opportunities which is awesome. If we saw good structure or a rainbow we wanted a photo of, the Tour Guides found a safe place to pull over so we could snap the photo! Inbetween storms, the Tour Guides made sure that we had fun and got to sight-see as well, which is just as important. There was honestly never a dull moment. All entry fees to National Parks etc. are paid for. Aside from weather, I have also learnt about and seen a lot of American Culture which I absolutely love. The places Weather Adventures took us for meals were awesome as well. Always very decent food and the tour guides know where all the good local, "quirky" places are to eat. Despite the size of the American Plains, Blake knows it like the back of his hand! All the hotels we stayed in were very decent, comfortable and accommodating. Wifi access in the van constantly available and water is always readily available.

There are not enough positive words available in the English Dictionary to express how amazing these Guides are. They'll always put you first, work SO hard to get you to those storms and are a heap load of fun. They're also very knowledgeable and are more than willing to share this knowledge with you (There's a reason I've never just stayed for one single tour with Weather Adventures!). The Guides were all very approachable and have taught me invaluable information about severe weather. I can't stress enough how much I have learnt because of them. They're always willing to answer your questions Tour Guides made sure everyone was looked after and accommodated taking me to Walmart for essential supplies throughout my trip with them.

Van is new. Very spacious for your suitcases, tripods, bags etc. All guests have a window seat and Tour Guides ensure the windows are cleaned spotless at every Gas Station stop! As stated before, wifi & water always available. Power points also available

Excellent!..... What a great 2 weeks worth every penny!... I have to say that i have been with another tour company 2 years ago but i will never travel with anyone else from now on. Had an excellent time blake makes the hours on the road fun and full of information, rest stops when you need them nothing is too much trouble. While we are there for the storms if there is time then he will find local attractions to visit so you are never long without any thing to do All hotels were great,clean, aircon most with pools and all major brands. We always got to eat well at night finding the best places in town nothing too expensive but always had great food with a bar for some fun, relaxation, and some "storm talk" Wifi in the van also means you can keep upto date wall all your social media if you will as well as helping pass the time away if you wish. I at no time felt in the way i and everyone else was part of the group

Blake, Ryan, Colt, and Lauren all know there stuff if there are storms out there you stand the best chances of getting there with these guys,they are all friendly and welcoming and are willing to explain things if you want

General review

I have just finished tour 5 and it was an awesome 10 days!! I chose weather adventures because a friend told me how good they were and he was not wrong. I have chased with a few groups over the years but due to home circumstances this was my last trip to tornado alley and I am glad it was with the weather adventures team! The weather pattern over the 10 days wasn't that conducive for big storm outbreaks and the guides had to work really hard to find storms but we chased every possible setup from the deep south of new mexico and Texas to the north of Wyoming and south Dakota. We saw storms everyday including numerous epic supercells finishing with the dream storm in Colorado that dropped 7 beautiful tornadoes which we watched from the perfect vantage point. The driving and forecasting is shared between Ryan and Blake. They have a good chemistry between them which works well, Ryan absolutely loves pouring over weather data and blake uses his spot on intuition as to how storms behave. We were also joined by Colt and Lauren Forney for some of our chases and their storm chasing reputation precedes them. The service before and during the tour was faultless and blake works himself into the ground to make sure everyone is happy and the hotels were really nice. There wasn't as much educational stuff as you get with other tours probably due to the fact we were traveling so much but blake and Ryan love nothing more than answering questions and Lauren gave us `on the road" instruction on how to use models and interpret data which was cool.

Blake and Ryan are super friendly,funny guys and the overall experience is one of chasing with friends instead of a more formal tour which is maybe a little different to other groups. Blake is super safety conscious and I have 100% confidence he would never put any one in a risky situation. So if your looking to punch massive hail cores, get really close to tornadoes or go down sticky dirt roads go somewhere else but if you want to get into position to take amazing pictures of storms and tornadoes, expertly navigate tornadic storms and have a massive laugh along the way then go with weather adventures

Vehicle review

The van is nice and drives really smoothly which is important when you clock up in excessive of 4000 chase miles in a tour. It also has wifi that you can actually sign into when on the road meaning you can upload all of your storm footage onto facebook straight away!!!

Weather adventures provided me with an exceptionally professional service. Hitting every major storm during the 2 weeks. The tour guides are veteran chasers forecasters and photographers. All of our tour ended up extended our stays. Some for a few days and some for another entire tour. The team worked around us to make sure we all had a great time and having been on other tour operators i can say these guys were the best. The small groups of 6 (although the owners used to handle 14+ people) is a great size for chasers as it's very easy to get going when required without spending time loading up. I can not commend these guys enough. Give them a go! You won't be disappointed.

Tour guide review

The tour guides were always willing to go above and beyond for the tour guests. They got us to the positions we needed to get our photos and videos. Driving us from the mexico border to Canada in 3 days. That is commitment! They would also make sure all guests were comfortable and happy. They would share their knowledge and if they could help us with our footage they would step in as assistants. They would make sure we were safe but close to the storms. Take us to get supplies if a guest was missing something even after we had finished for the days.

Brand new air-conned vehicle. Plenty of power points for everyone. WIFI is available when we were in service which was most of the time.

General review

I was very happy with my tour experience. Saw 2 EF2 tornadoes in Missouri and got to feel the inflow from a rain wrapped EF3 tornado in Nebraska. The rooms we stayed at were very nice. The places we ate at were great. Also for 5 days there were no storms so they took me sightseeing from Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. Saw some amazing places and had the adventure of a life time.

Blake Knapp and Dave Holder were the best tour guides. Very friendly, funny, informative and would answer any question I asked of them. They made the best out of the weather that was there. First tour and I see two tornado, you can't bet that. I highly recommend them.

Vehicle review

Four hours on a plane killed my back but the van was very nice and compatible. Had wifi, they provided free water or you could put what kind of drinks you wanted in the cooler. They went way out of their way to give me the best tour experience. For other people I can only say choose weatheradventures and have the time of your life. Take a sweater, it's gets a little chilly when the wind is blowing.
