Review of "Epic April - Tour 1 - 10 Days" by Tornadic Expeditions

General review

I had the unforgettable opportunity to join Tour 5 with Tornadic Expeditions this season, along with my two daughters, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. With a small, friendly group of 8 guests total, we were able to form real connections—not only with each other, but with the passionate, professional team guiding us through the week. The group dynamic was excellent—everyone got along wonderfully, and it was a joy to share this adventure with such a great group of fellow guests. Traveling with my two daughters made the experience even more special. The team was accommodating and respectful, making sure everyone felt safe, included, and informed. This was not just storm chasing—it was a shared journey of learning, wonder, and awe. A mix of basic but clean hotels and beautiful views at every stop. Tornadic Expeditions delivered everything I hoped for and more—thrills, education, and quality time with my daughters under some of the most amazing skies on Earth. If you’re looking for a safe, guided way to experience storm chasing with real experts, this is the team to trust. My daughters and I are planning on booking another tour with Tornadic Expeditions in the future.

Vehicle review:

The vans were modern, clean, and equipped with WiFi and power which was a welcome bonus for staying connected and tracking storms in real time. Every person got a window seat, which was great for viewing both the weather and the landscape while chasing storms.

Tour guide review:

Our tour director Erik Burns was exceptional. He brought deep meteorological knowledge to the table while keeping safety as the top priority. Each morning started with clear and thoughtful weather briefings, setting the tone for the day and helping us understand the evolving chase strategy. Matt and Ryan, our van drivers and guides, were just as impressive—both knowledgeable and easy to talk to. They kept us informed on storm behavior and forecasting techniques during long drives, which made the journey just as enjoyable as the destinations. We were lucky enough to witness one QLCS tornado, along with some spectacular supercells, lightning shows, and dramatic skies that only the Plains can offer. Lots of driving, often across multiple states in a day—but always with purpose and reward. No guaranteed tornadoes (that’s nature!), but the expert team gives you the best possible chance.
