Steve has been an avid amateur weather observer from way back. His interest in weather started in his teenage years, despite the rather unexciting climate of his home in coastal Southern California. He is a former president of the California Weather Association and a member of the American Meteorological Society, and is an officially trained spotter for the National Weather Service.
