Once the “real” storm chasing ends some tour companies regroup back to the south and to the desert states Arizona and New Mexico to chase Monsoon storms. This is different compared to normal storm chasing tours as the primary target is to experience (and photograph) lightning. Chances for tornadoes are very small and supercells are nowhere near as common. The lightning shows produced by the Monsoon storms are however spectacular! You also get the chance to chase storms in a completely different environment, the desert, as in the rest of the year.
